Nagpur's Sairaj Nayse and Mumbai's Satya Chauhan secured their place in the main draw of the All India Sub-Junior (U-15 & U-17) Ranking Badminton tournament on Tuesday. The event is being held at the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad.
Qualifying Round Victory
In the fourth and final qualifying round, the duo defeated CP Harikumar and Jeswin Surya Venkataraman with a convincing score of 15-9, 15-6. This win earned them a spot in the U-17 boys doubles main draw.
Earlier Rounds
The Maharashtra pair had a strong performance throughout the qualifying rounds. On Monday, they beat Devashish Prajapat and Vinay Pratap Singh 15-8, 15-11 in the third round. Prior to that, they overcame Durga Prasad Shetty-Diptyanshu Sharma and V Rithvik-B Ramkumar in the first two rounds respectively.
Main Draw Challenge
Sairaj and Satya, who train at the Arundhati Arun Badminton Academy, are set to face S Varun Nair and Muhammed Nazmi in the main draw. Fifteen-year-old Sairaj Nayse is supported by the AU Bank Foundation.
