Howrah: Police on Monday arrested three Trinamool Congress workers in connection with the public humiliation of TMC leader Sannyasi Manna in Amradaha, Shyampur. The arrests were made after Manna's wife, Sabita Manna, identified the accused in her complaint, officers said.
Details of the Arrest
The three accused, identified as Arun Roy, Tridib Samanta, and Bikash Bhandari, were produced before a court in Uluberia and subsequently remanded to judicial custody. The incident took place in Amradaha, Shyampur, where Manna was allegedly humiliated in public.
Background of the Incident
According to locals, the three workers belong to a faction opposed to Sannyasi Manna and are believed to be loyal to former Shyampur MLA Kalipada Mandal. This factional rivalry within the Trinamool Congress is suspected to be the motive behind the humiliation.
