A man believed to be in his 40s was fatally stabbed in Birmingham's Sparkbrook area on Thursday evening in what police suspect was a targeted attack involving individuals known to each other.
Police response and victim details
West Midlands Police said officers were called to Walford Road at around 6:20 p.m. following reports of an assault. Despite emergency responders' efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at around 7:00 p.m. His family has been informed and is being supported by specially trained officers.
Murder suspect arrested in Bristol
In a swift development, a 29-year-old man was arrested overnight in the Bristol area on suspicion of murder. Police confirmed that the suspect is being transported to the West Midlands for questioning.
