A fire broke out at the official residence of MLC Vineet Singh in Lucknow’s high-security Butler Palace Colony on Tuesday evening, with thick smoke billowing out of the house triggering panic in the city’s VVIP zone.
Incident Details
According to fire officials, the incident was reported to the Hazratganj fire station at 5:47 PM. The blaze was confined to a bedroom on the ground floor of House No. C-5, allotted to Singh, who represents the Mirzapur-Sonbhadra constituency in the Legislative Council. As smoke spread across the premises, security personnel and residents in the guarded enclave alerted authorities.
Response and Containment
Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot under the supervision of fire station officer Ram Kumar Rawat. “On arrival, the team found one room engulfed in flames. Immediate firefighting operations were launched and the blaze was swiftly brought under control before it could spread to other parts of the residence. There were no casualties or injuries,” Rawat said.
Cause of Fire
Chief fire officer Ankush Mittal stated that a short circuit appears to have caused the fire. The house was locked at the time of the incident. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause.
