Coimbatore School Bus Driver Arrested for Murdering Pregnant Lover

In a shocking crime that has rattled the community, a private school bus driver was arrested by the Thudiyalur police in Coimbatore on Thursday night. The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Tamilselvan from Sengalipalayam, stands accused of murdering his 32-year-old pregnant paramour, Anitha, who originally hailed from Ramanathapuram district.

Relationship and Dispute Leading to Tragedy

According to police reports, Anitha, who had separated from her husband, resided in the Thudiyalur area with her five-year-old daughter. She became acquainted with Tamilselvan as he was responsible for picking up and dropping off her daughter on the school bus. Over time, this professional interaction evolved into an extramarital relationship, which ultimately resulted in Anitha's pregnancy.

A severe dispute erupted between the two when Anitha demanded that Tamilselvan marry her. He refused, citing that his own wife was also pregnant at the time. Tamilselvan then pressured Anitha to terminate her pregnancy, leading to heightened tensions.

Brutal Murder and Investigation

The argument escalated dramatically on Wednesday. Tamilselvan took Anitha to an isolated location near Vattamalaipalayam. There, in a brutal act, he struck her on the head with a stone, rendering her unconscious. To conceal the crime, he drained petrol from his motorcycle, poured it over her body, and set her on fire.

The investigation made a critical breakthrough when a police sniffer dog tracked the scent from the victim's remains directly to Tamilselvan's residence. A police officer confirmed, "He confessed to murdering the woman." Following his arrest, Tamilselvan was remanded in judicial custody on Friday.

This tragic incident highlights the severe consequences of personal disputes turning violent. The local authorities are continuing their investigation to ensure justice is served in this harrowing case.
