Pregnant Woman Murdered in Kutch, Body Dumped in Well by Boyfriend and Friend
In a shocking incident in Kutch district, an 18-year-old pregnant woman was allegedly murdered, and her body was dumped in a well in a village of Anjar taluka. Police recovered the body on Friday morning, just one day after she was reported missing by her family.
Victim Identified as Radha Sathvara
The deceased has been identified as Radha Sathvara, a resident of Chandiya village. Her father, Gopal Sathvara, had lodged a missing complaint with the Anjar police on Thursday, expressing concerns over her sudden disappearance.
Police Investigation Leads to Arrests
Police received crucial information early on Friday that pointed towards the involvement of Rajesh Rabari, a cattle herder from a neighbouring village. Rabari was in a relationship with the victim, and initially, investigators suspected that the two might have eloped together.
Rajesh Rabari was traced and brought to the police station for questioning. During interrogation, he confessed to being in a relationship with Radha Sathvara for the past year and admitted that she had become pregnant.
Motivation Behind the Murder
According to police statements, the woman was pressuring Rabari to marry her and had allegedly threatened to file a formal complaint if he refused. Unwilling to proceed with marriage, Rabari discussed the matter with his friend Rahul Rabari, and the two conspired to kill her.
The plan was meticulously executed, with Rajesh allegedly sending a message to the victim on Instagram on February 17, asking her to elope with him. She was instructed to meet him at a designated location around 11 PM, with assurances that his friend would be present to assist them.
Details of the Crime
Trusting his words, the woman reached the spot as planned. Police allege that when the three reached near a well, Rajesh pushed her and suffocated her to death. The accused and his friend then allegedly tied the body to a cement stone and dumped it into the well to conceal the evidence.
This brutal act has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting issues of violence and crime in the region. The police are continuing their investigation to gather further evidence and ensure justice is served.
