Newlywed Woman Disappears from Kanpur Temple with Valuables Worth Lakhs
A newly married woman has mysteriously gone missing from a temple in Kanpur, along with jewellery and cash valued at approximately Rs 7 lakh. The incident occurred at the Kudhni Hanuman temple in the Sadh police station area on Monday, sparking a police investigation.
Husband Searches Frantically After Wife Vanishes
The woman's husband, identified as Saurabh alias Vikas from Jahanabad, reported the disappearance to the police after an extensive search. According to sources, the couple had been married for about one month and maintained a normal relationship post-wedding. On the day of the incident, Saurabh accompanied his wife to the temple for prayers.
Shortly after arriving, the woman informed Saurabh that a friend was waiting at Kudhni Chauraha and needed to be picked up by bike. Leaving his wife at the temple, Saurabh went to fetch the friend. However, upon his return, he discovered his wife was nowhere to be found.
Valuables and Cash Missing Along with the Woman
Saurabh immediately searched the temple premises and surrounding areas but could not locate her. He noted that her mobile phone was switched off, complicating efforts to trace her. Disturbingly, the woman was wearing gold and silver jewellery worth around Rs 6 lakh and carrying Rs 1 lakh in cash at the time of her disappearance.
The police have registered a missing person case based on Saurabh's complaint and launched an investigation. Authorities are examining CCTV footage from the temple, which captured the woman's image, and are attempting to track her through mobile location data.

The in-charge of Sadh police station confirmed that the investigation is actively progressing. Key steps include:
