A 22-year-old youth who had been missing since Sunday was discovered dead under mysterious circumstances in a vacant plot at Threeke village on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Karan, a resident of Threeke, who worked as a salesman at a shoe store in a shopping mall in Ludhiana. He was staying with his aunt at the time of the incident.
Family's Account of Events
According to the victim's family members, Karan left his house on Sunday after informing them that he intended to approach the police regarding the loss of his mobile phone. However, he never returned home. The family conducted searches at various locations but could not trace his whereabouts.
Discovery of the Body
On Monday morning, local residents spotted a body lying in a vacant plot in the village and promptly informed the police. A team from the Sadar police station arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. Preliminary examination revealed no visible injury marks on the body. The body was subsequently shifted to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Police Investigation
Inspector Jagdev Singh, SHO of the Sadar police station, stated that initial inquiries suggested the victim had reportedly consumed alcohol before his death. However, police officials emphasized that the precise circumstances leading to the incident would only become clear after the autopsy report is received. The SHO also noted that Karan had lost his mobile phone a couple of days ago, but no formal complaint regarding the loss had been lodged with the police.
Family Demands Thorough Investigation
Family members expressed shock over the sudden death of the youth and demanded a comprehensive investigation into all aspects of the case. The police assured that appropriate action would be taken based on medical and forensic findings. Further investigation is ongoing.
