The Gems and Jewellery Association of Rajkot also staged a significant protest and submitted a detailed letter to Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi. The letter highlighted that the incident has sparked anger and concern not just locally but across the entire state of Gujarat. It read, "The killing of Jatinbhai following a minor altercation on a public road is deeply tragic and disturbing. Such a grave incident occurring in the open has created an atmosphere of fear among ordinary citizens. We demand that law and order be strengthened and that a swift, transparent, and impartial investigation be conducted."
Calls for Exemplary Punishment and Enhanced Safety
Mayur Adesara, president of the association, emphasized the need for immediate and strict measures. "We urge the authorities to take immediate and strict action against all those involved, ensuring that the guilty receive the harshest punishment," he stated. In their representation to Sanghavi, the jewellers further elaborated, "This is not merely a concern for one family but a matter of safety for everyone using public roads. We request prompt and exemplary action with concrete results in this case to restore public confidence."
The protests underscore a growing demand for enhanced security and justice, as the trading community rallies together to seek accountability and prevent such tragedies in the future.
