The event occurred at the Budhana Mod police outpost under the Kotwali Nagar police station in Muzaffarnagar district, as confirmed by police officials on Friday.

The video, which quickly went viral on various social media platforms, showed one of the men sitting in the chair of the outpost in-charge while the other recorded him. In a lighthearted but provocative manner, the individual jokingly declared himself the new in-charge of the police outpost. Police Response and Legal Action
Upon taking cognisance of the circulating clip, police launched an immediate inquiry into the matter. Both men were promptly detained for questioning, and a formal case was registered against them. Deputy Superintendent of Police (City) Siddharth K Mishra stated that the individuals were produced before a magistrate following their detention.
Officials clarified that the Budhana Mod police outpost was temporarily unattended at the time of the incident, as police personnel were out on routine patrolling duty. Kotwali Nagar Station House Officer Bablu Kumar Verma explained that the two men were challaned under Section 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), which pertains to impersonation of a public servant. After being produced before a magistrate, they were released on bail pending further legal proceedings.
