YEIDA Creates Rs 25 Crore Corpus for Infrastructure Upkeep

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has announced the creation of a dedicated corpus fund to finance short-term repair and maintenance of basic infrastructure across its notified area. The decision comes as the launch of commercial flight operations from Noida International Airport on June 15 is expected to significantly accelerate industrial, commercial, and residential activity along the Yamuna Expressway corridor, making sustained infrastructure upkeep a pressing concern for the Authority.

Purpose and Scope of the Fund

The fund is designed to cover recurring expenditure on essential public amenities, including drinking water supply systems, roads, drains, sewerage networks, electricity infrastructure, parks, and other facilities. YEIDA anticipates that these costs will rise steadily as development activity intensifies in the region.

"This expenditure will continue to increase with ongoing development. We have decided to create a corpus fund to ensure the long-term sustainability of repair and maintenance works," said YEIDA CEO RK Singh.

Revenue Sources and Financial Projections

The corpus will draw primarily from lease rent, purchasable Floor Area Ratio (FAR), transfer charges, restoration charges, extension charges, plan processing fees, and other revenue streams. A dedicated account will be opened with the State Bank of India to manage the fund. Initially estimated at Rs 25 crore annually, the corpus is projected to scale up to Rs 150–200 crore over a decade as development activity grows.

Board Meeting Decisions

The decision was taken at YEIDA's 90th Board meeting on Monday, chaired by Additional Chief Secretary (Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department) Alok Kumar. During the meeting, the Authority also reported that its capital receipts grew by 43% year-on-year to Rs 745.9 crore in the April-May period of 2026-27, compared to Rs 522.4 crore in the corresponding period of 2025-26.

Industrial Property Allotments

The board reviewed industrial property allotments and noted that out of 3,175 industrial plots allotted so far, lease deeds have been executed for 2,495. Across specialized parks, including apparel, toy, MSME, and medical devices parks, the Authority has developed 1,236 plots. Of these, 1,122 have been allotted, 771 have lease deeds, 206 have sanctioned building maps, and 92 have received completion certificates. The Authority allotted 78 plots in 2025-26 and an additional 59 plots in the opening months of 2026-27.

Cow Shelter Management

The board also approved the hiring of a non-governmental organization (NGO) to manage its cow shelter located at Faleda Bangar village.
