The endowments department has initiated a centralised recruitment drive, drawing an overwhelming response with 5,486 applications submitted for 342 vacancies across major temples in the state.
Details of the Recruitment Drive
Endowments commissioner K Ramachandra Mohan stated that the available positions include Veda Parayanadars, archakas, paricharakas, bhajantris, and temple cooks. The centralised process aims to ensure transparency and merit-based selection.
Oral Tests Commence
Oral tests for Veda Parayanadar posts began on Monday. Candidates are evaluated based on educational qualifications, Vedic knowledge, experience, and performance in the oral test.
Transparency Measures
Officials confirmed that interviews are being video-recorded to maintain transparency. Scholars from other zones serve as examiners, and deputy commissioners from outside candidates’ zones oversee the process. Three interview boards have been constituted, and candidates are not informed in advance about the panel they will face.
Interviews for various multi-zone roles will continue until June 16. Recruitment for archaka, paricharaka, bhajantri, and other posts will be undertaken in phases after the completion of Veda Parayanadar selection.
