AAP Chandigarh Holds Training on Voter Revision Process

The Chandigarh unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) conducted a training program on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process on Sunday in Sector 35. The session witnessed participation from booth-level agents (BLA-2s), party office-bearers, municipal councillors, volunteers, and senior leaders. Former Delhi education minister Manish Sisodia and Delhi MLA and Chandigarh in-charge Jarnail Singh were present at the event.

Manish Sisodia Addresses the Gathering

Addressing the gathering, Sisodia elaborated on the SIR process and emphasized that the strength of democracy is directly linked to the protection of every citizen's voting rights. He stated that AAP workers would reach out to households, assist residents in filling out the required forms, and ensure that no eligible voter's name is deleted from the electoral rolls. He urged party workers to treat the campaign as a service to democracy rather than a political exercise, and to carry it out with dedication and commitment.

Commitment to Fair Elections

Sisodia added that the party would work with full commitment to ensure that the electoral process remains fair, transparent, and in line with the spirit of the Constitution. He called upon workers to visit every household, raise awareness about the SIR process, and ensure that no genuine voter is deprived of their democratic rights.

Jarnail Singh on Grassroots Responsibility

Jarnail Singh said democracy is safeguarded not only on polling day but through the fairness and transparency of processes leading up to elections. He noted that party workers have a responsibility not just to the organisation, but also to educate citizens about their constitutional rights. He urged them to provide accurate information, assist people facing issues related to voter registration, and strengthen the party at the grassroots level.

The program aimed to equip party workers with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively implement the SIR process, ensuring that the electoral rolls are accurate and inclusive. The AAP leadership reiterated their commitment to upholding democratic values and protecting the voting rights of all citizens.
