David Harbour Reveals Alternate Ending Ideas for Hopper in Stranger Things
David Harbour Shares Alternate Hopper Ending Ideas

Hollywood actor David Harbour, known for his role in the hit streaming series 'Stranger Things', has revealed that he wished he had done more for the series finale. The 51-year-old actor portrayed Chief of Police Jim Hopper across all five seasons of the Netflix sci-fi horror hit, according to 'Female First UK'.

David Harbour's Alternate Ending Ideas

While his character received a fitting conclusion alongside Joyce Byers, played by Winona Ryder, in the show's final episode earlier this year, Harbour had additional ideas for his alter ego. Speaking to On The Go with Deadline, the star expressed a desire to see Hopper spend more time with both Eleven, portrayed by Millie Bobby Brown, and Mike Wheeler, played by Finn Wolfhard.

Harbour stated, 'I wanted even a scene with Joe Keery. But stories have to end in a certain way and they don't get to go on and do whatever fan fiction I'm writing in my head.'

Cast Reflections at the Final Season Event

David was speaking at a Stranger Things 5 event held at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, where he discussed the final season alongside castmates Jamie Campbell Bower, Noah Schnapp, and Natalie Dyer. When asked about his own ideal ending, Jamie Campbell Bower humorously remarked, 'I probably would've liked to have ended everyone, as Vecna.' As per 'Female First UK', the cast was joined by producer and director Shawn Levy, as well as the show's creators, Matt and Ross Duffer.

The Duffer Brothers' Favorite Final Scene

The Duffer Brothers were particularly delighted with the final shot of the series, which depicted the 'kids' reuniting in the Wheeler basement for one last game of Dungeons and Dragons. Matt Duffer shared, 'It was the most emotional scene to write, because it was the last scene we were ever writing for these characters and definitely the most emotional scene to film.' Almost everyone agreed that this scene resonated with them the most, including Noah Schnapp.
