2026 OTT Cancellations: A Grim Year for Streaming

The OTT grim reaper has been exceptionally busy in 2026, with a total of 16 shows either canceled or concluding their runs. As of now, 11 series have been axed from streaming lineups, while five more are wrapping up on their own terms. Here is the full list of every show coming to an end this year.

1. 'The Abandons'

In January, reports confirmed that 'The Abandons', a Western series starring Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson, had been canceled. The show faced troubles even before its premiere, as creator Kurt Sutter left production weeks before filming wrapped due to reported creative differences. Sutter posted a heated message on Instagram, stating, "Next time fear compels you to choose the algorithm over a creator's vision, remember how that choice unraveled a potentially beautiful project," before later deleting it following contact from corporate lawyers.

2. 'The Night Agent'

On May 4, it was announced that the upcoming fourth season of 'The Night Agent' would be its last. Creator and showrunner Shawn Ryan emphasized that this was a deliberate creative decision rather than a cancellation. In an official statement, Ryan said, "Ever since the initial success of 'The Night Agent', I've been obsessed with eventually delivering a proper and thrilling conclusion to the show and to Peter Sutherland's journey."

3. 'Selling the City'

'Selling the City', a spin-off of the popular reality series 'Selling Sunset' set in New York City, was canceled after just one season. Speaking to PEOPLE, star Eleonora Srugo expressed no hard feelings. "I'm incredibly grateful for the experience and for all the people around the world who connected with it," she said.

4. 'Bandi'

The French series 'Bandi' was canceled just weeks after its first season debuted in April. In a statement to French website RCI, the decision was described as "a difficult decision that was not taken lightly."

5. 'Pop the Balloon'

The live dating show 'Pop the Balloon', hosted by Yvonne Orji, will not return for a second season, according to reports. The quirky show, based on a YouTube series of the same name, featured contestants holding balloons while being judged by a panel of singles.

6. 'Terminator Zero'

In February, 'Terminator Zero' creator Mattson Tomlin confirmed on X that his animated spin-off of the Terminator franchise had been canceled after one season. "It was canceled. The audience reception to it was tremendous, but at the end of the day not nearly enough people watched it," he wrote.

7. 'Alice in Borderland'

The hugely popular Japanese sci-fi thriller 'Alice in Borderland' was confirmed to end after Season 3, following an engagement report for the second half of 2025. The season saw declines in both critical and audience ratings, disappointing fans who had hoped for a resolution to its cliffhanger ending.

8. 'The Vince Staples Show'

Though it performed well with audiences over its two-season run, 'The Vince Staples Show' failed to find a broader audience and was canceled in January 2026.

9. 'The Lincoln Lawyer'

The popular legal drama 'The Lincoln Lawyer', based on Michael Connelly's book series, will end with its fifth season, currently in production. Co-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez released a joint statement saying, "All good things must come to an end, but thankfully sometimes how they come to an end is up to us."

10. 'With Love, Meghan'

The Duchess of Sussex's lifestyle show is reportedly not returning for a third season. A source told PEOPLE in January that there were "currently no plans" for continuation. A spokesperson later confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that the partnership with Markle's As Ever brand had also ended. "Meghan's passion for elevating everyday moments in beautiful yet simple ways inspired the creation of the As Ever brand, and we are glad to have played a role in bringing that vision to life," the spokesperson said.

11. 'Miss Governor'

Tyler Perry's political comedy 'Miss Governor', which debuted in May 2025, will not return for a second season. In an Instagram video in March, star Terri J. Vaughn confirmed the news, saying, "I have to admit, I was quite heartbroken when I first got the info. I really worked my ass off to make that show come to fruition."

Season 6 of the Spanish comedy 'Alpha Males' will be its last. Following the Season 5 premiere, it was confirmed that the in-production sixth season would serve as the show's send-off, consisting of 10 episodes.

13. 'Class'

'Class', a Hindi adaptation of the Spanish series 'Elite', was initially renewed for a second season, but actor Gurfateh Pirzada confirmed on Instagram that it would not move forward. As reported by Men's Journal, he wrote, "Unfortunately we could not give you another season because life usually has other plans."
