Olly Murs Cries Recalling Emotional Soccer Aid Challenge

Olly Murs has been selected as this year's celebrity ambassador for the Soccer Aid Challenge. Just days before, the singer was seen crying after passing his physical endurance test. Now, in another emotional moment, he broke down in tears while talking about his 400-kilometer race.

Olly Murs Opens Up About the Soccer Aid Challenge

Speaking to The Daily Mirror, the famed musician reflected on the hardships he endured. "I'm feeling good, I think I'm still in a bit of a bubble. I didn't quite fathom what I've done, still. I'm just really proud that I did it," he said. He added, "That will be a chance for me to see it and go, bloody hell, that was epic. I'm just really proud I've done it." The challenge lasted five days and, according to reports, raised EUR 800,000.

The singer even joked about how, after the challenge ended, he enjoyed burgers from a popular fast-food joint. "It tasted so good. I think people were shocked that I was in the queue to get it but it tasted great. It's all I kept thinking about all week," he stated.

Most Emotional Part of the Run

Olly Murs also spoke openly about the most emotional part of his five-day challenge. He said, "When my wife turned up, it's weird, when you're pushing your body to the absolute limit and really fighting through it every day, any bit of positive, or anything lovely, you're thinking of your wife and kids."

What Is the Soccer Aid Challenge?

This is an annual challenge undertaken by celebrity ambassadors. It is a multi-day endurance event held to raise funds for UNICEF's Soccer Aid. This year, Olly Murs embarked on several high-endurance tasks to raise money for the cause. The tasks are revealed only minutes before the start time, testing the participant's ability to cope with whatever comes their way.

A documentary chronicling his journey has been released on the streaming platform ITVX.
