The West Bengal Centralised Admission Portal (WBCAP) has officially released the WBCAP 2026 merit list on June 9. Students who applied through the Common Admission Process (CAP) can now access the merit list on the official portal, wbcap.in, as well as on the individual websites of the participating colleges.
Merit List Preparation and Details
The merit list has been prepared by each Higher Education Institution (HEI) based on the candidates' Class 12 board examination marks. Along with the merit list, colleges have also issued seat allocation lists for selected candidates, indicating the specific seats they have been allotted.
Next Steps for Selected Candidates
Students whose names appear on the merit list have two options: they can either accept the allotted seat or choose the upgradation option to be considered for a higher-preference college in the subsequent round. To confirm admission, candidates must pay the required semester fee online within the prescribed deadline. The fee payment is mandatory to secure the seat.
Admission Schedule
According to the admission schedule, candidates can complete admission against the first merit list from June 9 to June 15. The upgraded round merit list and allocation list will be released on June 20, and admissions under the upgraded round will take place from June 20 to June 23. Following this, physical verification of documents for admitted students will be conducted at the respective institutions between June 27 and July 4. Classes for the new academic session are scheduled to begin on July 6.
