Key Points to Remember

Preference may be given to women (especially widows and single working women), SC/ST/OBC candidates, persons with disabilities, and transgender individuals. The interest subsidy is credited upfront to the loan account through Primary Lending Institutions (PLIs) such as Scheduled Commercial Banks, Housing Finance Companies, Regional Rural Banks, and others. Aadhaar numbers are linked to prevent duplication.

The scheme reduces the burden of home loans for middle-income families without a permanent home, lowering both the outstanding loan amount and monthly EMIs.
