Residents Urge Action on Delayed Batlapalli Flyover

Residents of Batlapalli near Hosur have urged officials to take immediate steps to begin construction of a flyover, the tender for which was awarded to a private company more than a year ago. The Rs 37.90 crore project has yet to see any work on the ground.

New Bus Stand Adding to Concerns

A Rs 50 crore suburban bus stand at Batlapalli is nearing completion. The new facility is being built to decongest the existing bus stand in Hosur town, which is currently overcrowded. However, residents fear that once the Batlapalli bus stand becomes operational, traffic congestion on the Batlapalli-Hosur Road will worsen significantly.

The proposed flyover was intended to ease traffic flow in the area, but delays have left commuters anxious. Officials have suggested diverting vehicles to a newly built service road during construction, but that road remains incomplete.

Service Road Inadequate

“The service road is narrow and congested. If all vehicles are pushed there, we will be stuck for hours. Officials should find an alternative route,” said Kavitha, a bus passenger, highlighting the inadequacy of the proposed diversion plan.

Residents have called for the authorities to expedite the flyover construction and ensure that proper traffic management measures are in place before the bus stand opens. The delay, they argue, could lead to severe gridlock in the region.
