India has recently concluded or operationalised trade agreements with key partners including the United Arab Emirates, Australia, the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) bloc, and Mauritius. These pacts are already in effect, offering preferential market access and tariff reductions for Indian exporters.

Looking ahead, the ministry expects trade agreements with the United Kingdom, Oman, and New Zealand to come into force in 2026. Additionally, a comprehensive agreement with the European Union is targeted for 2027. These negotiations are progressing steadily, with both sides working to resolve outstanding issues related to tariffs, services, and investment.

Bengaluru, as a major hub for technology, pharmaceuticals, and engineering, stands to benefit significantly from these FTAs. The ministry also plans to conduct awareness workshops and provide handholding support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to navigate the complexities of international trade.
